The history of the Gut Hühnerhof
In the beginning was the vision
- A family makes it come true!
1980 - The father of the family, Walter Hecker, decides what was then remote Gut Hühnerhof to take over and to restore step by step according to his ideas.
With the support of his friends and relatives, his two sons Tobias and Michael and his loving wife Irmgard, he managed to breathe new life into the forgotten patch of earth. In addition to the numerous restoration work, the family also tilled the agricultural land.
While the roofing and construction work was still in full swing, the family decided to devote themselves to their dream of the first public golf course in Hesse. This is how the golf park became in 2000 Gut Hühnerhof founded with a 9-hole course.
The hotel opened Gut Hühnerhof with a café, which is now successfully managed by Myriam Hecker. With the new construction of the 18-hole golf course with an imposing clubhouse as the centerpiece, the family also opened their own restaurant: "Heckers".
While Michael Hecker is now the club manager for the golf park and runs the family restaurant together with his wife Lisa, Tobias Hecker is responsible for the management of the agricultural land and all maintenance and construction work related to the Gut Hühnerhof responsible. The youngest of the three Hecker children, Susanne, takes on the planning of further building projects as the architect, as well as the marketing of the family business.
A family business that is second to none!
What was first - the chicken or the egg.
When naming the Gut Hühnerhof the answer is clear: it all started with the egg. At the time of the Brothers Grimm, i.e. before the customs union, there were a total of 36 different currencies between Munich and Berlin. The egg, however, had the same value everywhere. As chicken and egg had a very high market value, the landowners at the time decided to give the farm its name Gut Hühnerhof .
Previously it was called Hainhof or Hof am Hainen. It was surrounded by many areas where the cattle grazed and the hay was harvested.

In the summer of 2022, 350 young hens moved into our new chicken mobile, which is located on our golf course. You can buy the fresh eggs at the hotel reception as well as at the reception of the 18-hole course:

Adventure golf Gut Hühnerhof
The attraction for all outdoor sports enthusiasts. The adventure golf course of the Gut Hühnerhoft is the newest attraction for young and old. Based on the courses of the 27-hole golf park Gut Hühnerhof the fairways were designed and the obstacles of the 9-hole adventure golf course thematically reflect the trades of the Gut Hühnerhof Agriculture & Craft.

Miniature golf
Whether old or young, big or small, our mini golf course demands every skill and skill. The 18 lanes show who is unerring and with strong nerves. The lanes are covered with artificial turf so that you can experience a unique game of fun.
Kneipp visit
The Kneipp health facility provides refreshment between the exciting games. In crystal clear, pleasantly cool and refreshing spring water, you do something good for your circulation and your soul. In no time you will be fit for the next game, for a hike through wide valleys and forests or for a bike tour. You will find the plants at the historic Gut Hühnerhof and the Heckers Restaurant.
Playground
Whether you are enjoying the chicken in the beer garden or feasting on your cake on the café terrace: your children can let off steam in our children's playground and you have everything in view!
Barefoot path
The over 100 meter long barefoot path awaits you with 16 different materials and surfaces that challenge both your balance and your sense of touch. Whether jumping over spherical stones or balancing on long tree trunks, everyone will find something they like here. At the end of the barefoot path, the Kneipp health facility provides ideal refreshment.
Kapelle
The self-planned chapel was completed on our estate in 2002. It is consecrated to St. Francis and was built out of gratitude for 20 years of accident-free renovation of the Gut Hühnerhof built. It is accessible to everyone and invites all golfers and visitors to relax and linger! A public May service takes place here every year.
