Since the new addition to the hotel in spring 2018, not only the hotel reception but also the breakfast area Gut Hühnerhof moved.
As the name suggests, until a few years ago there was actually still a workshop hidden in the “old forge”, where welding, flexing and tinkering was carried out every day. After the interior work, the old walls shine in new splendor. The oak furniture and large glass fronts bring the "Gut Hühnerhof“-Flair with it. In the morning, the “Alte Schmiede” is transformed into the hotel's breakfast room with its extensive breakfast buffet (Mon - Fri 07.00 a.m. - 10.00 a.m. / Sat & Sun 08.00 a.m. - 11.00 a.m.).

Rooms
Our hotel was opened in 2004 and expanded in 2011. The facility was built in the in-house carpenter's workshop. On the solid wood furniture and in the bathrooms, our guests can see that the estate carpenter understands and loves his craft.
The 38 bright rooms with a total of 110 beds overlook the inner courtyard or the golf course. They are lovingly furnished with small details and not every room is exactly the same as the other: Sometimes the walls are painted in a different color, sometimes there is a different bedside reading.
But one thing is the same in all rooms: the best mattresses and extra-long, cozy duvets ensure healthy sleep. The rooms are equipped with the usual standards, such as television, telephone, hairdryer and free WiFi. Our guests call us free of charge to the German landline network. Free parking spaces are also available to our guests.
Use of the sauna and fitness room is also included. In summer there are limited opening times for the sauna, prior registration is required. All rooms are non-smoking. Out of consideration for those allergic to animal hair, pets are not allowed in the hotel.
When it comes to room cleaning, we also focus on sustainability and environmental protection. That is why we clean our rooms chemical-free with micro-steam, which, in addition to a perfect cleaning result, also has a disinfecting effect.

Our Gut Hühnerhof is a family-run historic property in the middle of nature in the Main-Kinzig district. Acquired from Walter Hecker 40 years ago, he and his family have carefully restored the old sandstone building over the years with great respect for the past and the original. With our listed hotel, the surrounding land and the golf park with its restaurants, we combine business life with relaxed private time-outs and sustainability. The result is an inspiring place where employees and guests should feel welcome and comfortable in a family, warm atmosphere.

Preserving the original without losing sight of the innovative is a matter close to our hearts. Only ecological substances were and are used in construction, in our own carpentry we produce high-quality solid wood furniture that decorates our hotel and underlines the natural ambience of our estate. With all the modern technology that we need and make available to our guests for successful creative days, we live and work in an energy-saving and resource-saving manner.
We are proud to be able to offer our guests Gut Hühnerhof - water, honey from our own bee colonies and - most recently - fresh eggs from our own chicken mobile every day. We rely on regional suppliers and do without aggressive cleaning agents and unnecessary intermediate cleaning. At our "low waste" breakfast buffet, our guests can enjoy fair trade products, among other things. We live sustainability every day. As a family business, not only is the well-being of our guests very important, but also that of future generations.

This fills us with joy, strengthens our team spirit and makes us curious about new challenges. As the first family, we were recently included in the circle of "Spessart ambassadors" of Spessart-Tourism and Marketing GmbH - a sign that we are on the right track together with our team.

- We are right in the middle of nature and not just there. That means there is public transport, but it usually doesn't run when you need it. No problem: Travel to the Gelnhausen or Langenselbold train stations at a reduced price with the DB ticket – taxis are always available there.
- Forest and meadows as far as the eye can see? Country life includes beetles, mosquitoes and spiders, which occasionally cross our paths in the hotel, but also the typical smell of damp earth, straw and cow dung. It's wonderful when it smells of natural cycles and agriculture, isn't it?

- We don't have air conditioning in the rooms. This is healthy, environmentally friendly and cost-saving - but it can also get warm at times. Unless you don't let the summer heat in at all: simply close the windows and curtains during the day, there are cooler rooms with external blinds in the "Heuboden" building.
- We bathe in nature instead of in the pool. If that's not enough wellness for you, use our Kneipp health facility with crystal-clear, pleasantly cool and refreshing spring water or do something good for your body and soul with forest bathing.
- We save energy, so we don't have minibars in the rooms. But there is a maxi bar in the cozy "living room". Here you can help yourself, there are many cool drinks, wine and small snacks.
- Who needs room phones when there are cell phones? If yours is not charged or has stayed at home, we will be happy to lend you a mobile landline device.
- There is no elevator in the "Heuboden" part of the building - but there is only one upper floor. Sporty people can do that. Everyone else chooses the “Grain Warehouse” part of the hotel with a lift, or simply let us help you if your suitcases are too heavy.
- Be honest: there is no need for daily room cleaning - and you can enjoy more privacy at the same time. This saves us a lot of water and detergent and you don't have to gather your belongings every morning. If you still need a change of towels, please let reception know.

Our living room meets all the needs of the common end of the day
The living room
Since February 2019, the living room has been exclusively available to our hotel guests to end the day with friends and colleagues in a cozy atmosphere in private.
The room is available to our guests Monday to Thursday from 18.00 p.m. Access is easily possible with the normal hotel room key card. In order to sweeten the evening for you, we have provided the living room with many small details. It also includes the following furnishing features:
